The best thing about cooking is that it never gets old and just keeps on evolving instead.

That’s why in every meal, you can always come up with something creatively tasty.

That being said, is there anything easier to cook than chicken?

This is the ultimate chicken dinner.

Thankfully, the internet is blessed with tons of quick and easy-to-do recipes from people all across the globe.

One of them is Aaron Brown.

He started his journey in the kitchen at the age of seven when his mother bought him a junior cookbook.

He calls himself a family-taught chef who โ€œsimplifies recipes and takes the mystery out of cooking.โ€

โ€œThe thing I love most about doing what I do,โ€ Aaron says, โ€œis seeing someoneโ€™s reaction when they successfully prepare a delicious meal after following one of my tutorials. Food is a time machine, a talking point, and a lot of the dishes I make aim to touch the soul and hopefully help many others generate some of their own great family memories.โ€

Here’s his “Smothered Chicken and Gravy”.

But before we even jump into the kitchen to do this, you should gather all the ingredients needed first.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 6 – 8 Bone-in Chicken Thighs
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 tsp granulated garlic
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 small Onion
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • Pinch of Red Crushed Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Make sure the chicken thighs are fresh and so are the other ingredients.

The first step is to preheat your oven to 425ยฐ Fahrenheit.

It’s as easy as 1-2-3.

As seen in the video, in a small bowl, the “family-taught chef” proceeded with mixing the paprika, oregano, chili powder, and granulated garlic altogether using a small whisk.

Time to flavor the meat.

In a much larger bowl, use the mixture to season the chicken thighs.

Make sure that each is covered with a decent amount of seasoning, both the top and bottom parts.

Apart from the mixture, you may also add a couple of pinches of salt and ground pepper to add more flavor to it.

Prepare the breading.

Go ahead and grab another mixing bowl and put the flour in and the remaining powder seasoning (paprika, oregano, chili powder, and granulated garlic).

Again, if you want to add more flavor to it, feel free to add salt and ground pepper.

Once done, dip the seasoned chicken thighs and make sure each is completely covered with the breading mixture.

Pan-fry the chicken thighs.

Let them cook for 5 minutes on each side.

Prepare the cream/gravy by simmering chopped yellow onions with minced garlic, crushed peppers, butter, remaining seasoned flour (breading), and chicken broth.

Simmer until it becomes creamy and thick.

Put the fried chicken thighs in and make sure each piece is covered with the cream/gravy and put it inside your preheated oven for an hour.

Note: make sure to put the pan lid cover during the entire cooking process.

Garnish it with parsley or anything, again, feel free to use other ingredients according to your like or preference.
